oh and an updated sign :)
In order to start training your Dog, you must first complete the Dog Kennel building on your homestead and go inside it, where you will see three possible skills your dog can learn. Please note that you can’t start teaching your skills to your dog until it reaches adult status (you must feed it Chunky Chow to get it there):
- Hunting Skill (read about the Hunting Skill Missions here)
- Herding Skill (read about the Herding Skill Missions here)
- Digging Skill (read about the Digging Skill Missions here)
Each of these skills your dog can learn is achieved by completing a series of missions (three new missions for each skill) and after that, you will have to complete a new mission for each skill that actually shows you the dog doing what he or she had learned. I will post have posted articles about the missions for each skills.
At the moment, it is unclear if you can teach a dog all the three skills, but chances are that you can – especially since all these missions are repeatable, meaning that you can train more dogs!
Just remember that you can now (and should, for completing the training missions) activate your dog and control it as you control the in-game avatars, by clicking the dog and selecting the “Activate the dog” option. It will be the main character and you’ll be able to perform tasks with it. When you are done, you should click it again and select the “Stay” option, as seen below:
Let’s start with the Digging Dog CollectionRequirements and Rewards:
As you can see in the image above, in order to complete this collection, you need to find Rusty Can, Moldy Shoe, old Bottle, Bent Fork and Silver Dollar. You can find these items while your dog is performing the digging skill (cleaning debris on the homestead). If you trade in this collection, you receive 100 XP and a Hole in the Grass decoration
Herding Dog Collection
It requires the following collectibles: Dead Snake, Nettles, Skunk Pelt, Deer Poop, Shepherd’s Crook. You can get these items while tending animals with your dog. The reward for trading in a completed Herding Dog Collection is 100 XP and a Barbed Wire Fence
Hunting Dog Collection
Needs: Duck Decoy, Deer Blind, Pheasant, Shotgun Shell, Moose Trophy. The reward consists of 100 XP and 200 Food.
Kennel Collection
It requires you to find the following collectibles while building or collecting from the Kennel: Pet Door, Kibble, Mop ‘n Bucket, Ear Plugs, Poop Scoop. The reward is 100 XP and 1 Chunky Chow.
For every three mice you find, you will receive a reward: a tea table (Candlelit Tea Table after collecting 3 mice, Tea Set Tea Table at 6, and Floral Tea Table at 9). The even more interesting part is that all these tables are part of a huge, oval table that will certainly look impressive when placed on your homestead.
However, you can’t collect mice early on, so don’t start clearing your wildflowers until you get to that mission!
The first mission in the series is titled A Fancy Dinner and here are the requirements:
- Tend 30 Adult Cows
- Tend 40 Pigs on your Homestead or a Neighbor’s
- Have Two Bacon.
After completing the "A Fancy Dinner" mission, you will receive a reward of 1 Lunch, 250 XP and 500 coins.
The second mission in the new FrontierVille series Granny Mother’s Day is titled Granny’s Broken Still and it tells the story as follows: “Granny sure was impressed with the dinner you cooked up. I bet you’d really impress her if’n you got to fix up her still. Durned thing’s broke!”
In other words, in order to complete the Granny’s Broken Still mission, you must do the following:
- Harvest 20 Wheat
- Have 10 Copper Pots
- Hire 5 Friends
Again a very simple mission that will take you, however, longer to complete because of the hiring requirement. The Copper Pots might also cause some trouble, since you need to ask for them from your friends.
After completing Granny’s Broken Still mission, you will receive 600 XP, 1 Whiskey Still and 750 coins.
The third and last mission in the new series of Granny Mother’s Day goals in FrontierVille is titledGranny’s Kitty and I bet you’ll love its reward. Until then, here is how the story unfolds: “Know what would really tickle Granny’s whiskers? A soft and fluffy kitty of her very own! Whatcha think will attract one to yer homestead?”
Here is what would attract the “kitty” – in other words, the requirements for the Granny’s Kitty Mission:
- Harvest 50 Tomatoes
- Ask for 15 Cans of Sardines
- Find Nine Field Mice
Be careful if you don’t want to complete the missions in the Canning Master series and it was the Tomatoes requirement that you have ignored until now! You should get rid of all the butter instead!
Next, in order to find Nine Field Mice, you will have to clean wildflowers on your homestead, and I will have an article written about this pretty soon, since finding the Mice is also a very rewarding process!
After completing the Granny’s Kitty mission in FrontierVille, you will receive as a reward 1,000 XP, 1,000 coins and a cool looking Lynx! Hope it’s a nice kitty!
